Oil Pulling

Oil pulling is fast becoming the next big thing, when it comes to improving health and helping you stay looking younger.
I have been pulling oil for a few months now, and I have never slept better.
For a while there, I was always waking up during the night, and it would take me sometimes unto 2 to 3 hours before I would fall back to sleep.  Now if I wake up during the night, I fall back to sleep almost straight away.
I could also feel sensitivity in the back of my mouth when I ate or drank something, and I knew it was a cavity.
Every time I brushed my teeth, it would feel sensitive to the touch and I kept putting of going to the dentist.  When I started including the  benefits of oil pulling, within a few weeks it was gone, and my teeth are much whiter.
What is Oil Pulling
It is swishing oil in your mouth for about 20 minutes, first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, is the usual advice, but you can do it any time of the day when your stomach is empty.
The best oils to use are cold pressed, sesame oil or sunflower oil.  I use sesame  oil.
Pour 10ml of oil into one of those little cups you would use for cough syrup, and swish it around in your mouth, pulling the oil in and out of your teeth.
Don’t gargle, and do not swallow, as the oil has become toxic.
If 20 minutes is too much for your to start with, then build up slowly.
Split the oil out when finished, and brush your teeth or rinse your mouth with salt and water.  I usually just rinse with salt and water.
Try and sit still for the time the oil is in your mouth, although having said that, I sometimes find myself swishing the oil, while making the beds in the morning.
The oil should become thinner, and when you spit it out, it will be milky white.
There are a few things to watch out for when pulling oil, one is you may feel as though you need to go to the toilet, your nose may become blocked, phlegm may build up in the throat, or you may feel like coughing.
Before you begin, make sure you have had a bowl movement first, and blow your nose.
Benefits of Oil Pulling
  • cure gum disease
  • whiten teeth
  • strengthen teeth
  • get rid of toxins in the body
  • smoother skin
  • more energy
  • relieve for migraines and headaches
  • relief from many skin problems
  • cure constipation
  • ease inflammation
  • improved memory
In fact, there are so many benefits to be had by swishing oil around in your mouth,  I am unable to list them all.
Not everyone will experience the same thing pulling oil.  I have definitely noticed more energy, whiter teeth, cavity gone, and I now enjoy the health benefits of sleep.
For people who are suffering from a major health problem, it is advised to get the best results, to oil pull 3 times a day, on an empty stomach. There are no known oil pulling side effects.
If in doubt, give oil pulling a go before you make up your mind, I especially recommend it, if you suffer from any teeth problems.
