Moisturizing Dry Skin

Moisturizing dry skin is very important, as dry skin does tend to wrinkle more and can look weathered and dull.
There are many causes of dry skin such as, washing your face too often, illness, stress, humidity, sensitivity to chemicals in products being used on your face, over exposure to the suns UV rays, too much alcohol and smoking, certain medications, lack of important vitamins, minerals and aging.
There are many home remedies for dry skin as well as some great natural organic face creams.
First cleanse your face with a non soap cleanser, hypo-allerginic, fragrance free and one which contains natural ingredients, this is very important.  Wash your face with warm water, not hot and always pat your face dry.
It is important to cleanse first with a natural facial cleanser without all the chemicals, as these chemicals are actually stripping your skin of its natural oils, and making your dry skin condition worse.
Avoid harsh scrubs, if you are going to do this, use sugar with a few drops of lemon juice, squeezed from a lemon.
It is imperative you avoid any product that contains perfume, and check the product you are using even if it is organic, as some of these can have perfume in them.  Just because it says organic, does not mean it is.  Unfortunately, many companies get away with putting in ingredients such as perfume because they can.
The makeup you are using can also make your dry skin condition worse, it is important you use natural makeup as well.
Using honey on your face is a great natural remedy for dry skin, just spread it on your face after cleansing and leave on for about 30 minutes, wash off with warm water and moisturize.
Mashing a ripe banana with honey is also great, just mix together and rub all over your face.
Aromatherapy Recipe;  Blend 2 to 3 drops of  rose, geranium or palmarosa and lavender, 5 tsp/25ml of apricot kernel oil, 1 tbs/15ml of an oil like avocado, wheat germ, evening primrose or rose hip seed oil, this makes a great moisturizer.
Apply aloe vera gel to your face, even better if you have a plant growing.
This type of skin can become wrinkled more easily than oily skin.
Having a deficiency in vitamins D and A is also known to cause dry skin, and not drinking water, or not drinking enough of it. In some cases an allergy to a certain food can be the cause.
Supplements good for helping with this type of skin problem is; evening primrose oil, fish oil and flaxseed oil.
Other wonderful remedies for dry skin, is using oils such as;  organic rose hip oil,  organic cold pressed hexene free castor oil and  organic tamanu oil.
Many causes of dry skin can be overcome by using natural products, and moisturizing dry skin morning and night is very important to help keep it hydrated.
